Dear Friends and Customers, I lost my horse. I am speaking of this very personal part of my life because you are horse people and understand. It helps to share the pain. Joey and I had 15 great years together during which time we learned many of life's lessons: patience, discipline, confidence, perseverance, and so much more. I miss his sound, his smell and his touch. More than anything I miss the feel of his strong back carrying me in rhythmic motion over the ground. Nothing compares to the joy of riding horses. Joey is buried in his pasture on the south side of a stand of pine and cedar. When I look out of my bedroom window I can still see him standing there, one hind hoof cocked, dozing in the winter sunshine. The Chinese word for crisis has two characters because crisis always includes opportunity. Now I begin to move forward through my grief and discover what lies ahead. Happy trails, |
